The Problem
The existing membrane roof was beginning to fail. Open seams, failed flasings, wet
insulation, and a deteriorated steel deck were all apparent.
An infared scan was performed to locate wet insulation. The wet insulation
was removed and the deteriorated steel deck was replaced as necessary.
The Solution
The existing through-wall scuppers were enlarged and lowered. Tapered insulation
was added between the scuppers to promote positive drainage.
A separator curb / expansion joint was installed to separate the new roof from the old.
A new layer of 1/2" insulation board was installed over the existing roof. Then a new,
mechanically attached, reinforced TPO membrane system was installed. The TPO system
utilizes 10' x 100' rolls with heat-welded seams.
